SPEAKER: Marg Coutts
Marg Coutts originally trained as an art teacher and became intrigued by the way art making can be fun and transformative at the same time. This led her to pursue post-graduate studies in Art Therapy at Edith Cowan University/WAAPA, graduating in 2001. Since then she has established a private practice and consulting business, supporting people individually and in groups, to access the arts for understanding, healing and transformation.
Marg's art therapy practice is supported by 30 years exploration and training in Eastern meditative traditions in India, Thailand and Australia. She experiences the arts as entry points to our inner lives which support reflection, awareness and insight, as well as being vehicles for navigating our concerns, traumas, challenges, hopes and achievements.
Alongside her private practice Marg is engaged with local Community Services. This has included work with people impacted by dementia and former refugees. She is currently working as a Bushfire Recovery Officer with Department of Primary Industries.
